SuperBowl XLVI

Giants - 31

Patriots - 27

MVP: Eli Manning (21-29 316 yards 3 TDs 1 INT)

**Darkhorse MVP: Victor Cruz or Jason Pierre-Paul

Things to watch:

- Giants front four vs Patriots O-Line. Look for the Giants to rush Brady, early and often to rush The Patriots’ patent underneath attack. If the Giants are able to establish their tempo and dictate the pace of the game for the Pats offense, it will be a rough start for Brady & Co. On the flipside, the Patriots will try to capitalize on the speed of the pass rush by countering with draws and running plays up the middle of the Giants’ formation. Should be a fun battle. The Giants poise a tough challenge because they will most likely send the front four to rush; while having the remaining seven defenders play a zone-man hybrid (especially when covering the Patriots interior passing attack).

- Manning v. Brady: Two of the most cerebral passers in the game today, maybe ever. The lack of an outside deep threat will make Brady’s day tough since the Giants’ secondary is not as sharp on the outside pass. However, the underneath and quick routes that made Pats’ Tight Ends Hernandez and Gronkowski a force to be reckoned with will be an interesting match up. Manning has quietly done it all year. 4,000 yards passing and his ability to make Nicks, Manningham and Cruz into household names is noteworthy. Not much to say here only that, if they can get their passing game clicking, it will be a long game for New England.

Victor Cruz doing the salsa in the endzone: What else can I say? Has the potential to be a candidate for MVP

- Rob Gronkowski: the high ankle sprain may hamper his productivity. Keep your eye on how the Giants cover the massive Tight-End target.

- New England’s rushing game: BenJarvis Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead provide enough power and speed, respectively. Giants are not that great in stopping the run, but that’s what they said about San Francisco. However, the dynamic characteristics of each running back should make it a wonderful game for fans of the ground game.
